Yes We Can - A story of personal triumph

Everyone and their grandmother is writing about Obama today.

I am a total Obama-head!! I am a true believer and I am not shaken by assertions that America is not ready for a mixed race president. Yes, I realise I am not American and I’m not going to vote and his victory will not directly put bread on my table.

But there’s something special about this man. And I believe that he can.

But today, what strikes me most is the magic between Barack and Michelle. Barack and Michelle’s personal triumph at this moment.

At this moment, the strength and magic of their bond amazes and inspires me.

He had a big dream. The biggest dream. And through all the ups and downs, the challenges, the victories, the defeats…….. through all of it, they have stood together.

“I got you baby!”

That’s what I see in that picture. Tenderness, affirmation, love and pride.

In the midst of all the madness, they stand together.

Magic!

America, this is our moment. This is our time.

Our time to turn the page on the policies of the past. Our time to bring new energy and new ideas to the challenges we face. Our time to offer a new direction for this country that we love

This was the moment - this was the time - when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals.
